Humble contributions of Manav Sehyog Society in the field of health and education is as follows:

Four charitable dispensaries in different parts of the city are being managed by Manav Sehyog Society. In addition, a mobile dispensary goes to nearby villages providing health care at the doorstep. Patients coming to these dispensaries are examined by qualified doctors with back up of clinical laboratory providing facility for routine tests at very nominal rates. Consultants for different specialists like Internal medicine, General surgery, Psychiatry, Chest diseases, Paediatrics, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, E.N.T., Gynae, Dermatology & Dental diseases visit these dispensaries once / twice a week and examine & treat the patients. These dispensaries also provide the facility of immunization of children against polio, D.P.T. measles, mumps, hepatitis & others as per WHO standardized schedule. The immunization programme is supervised by our pediatricians.

FEW FACTS ABOUT OUR HEALTH PROJECTS

Diagnostic Centre : This was the maiden project of M.S.S. stared in 1975. It is located at Patel Hosptal Pvt.Ltd, Civil lines and is equipped with two x-ray machines providing facilities at subsidized rates.

Ladowali Road : The building was provided by the Sewak family of Late Lala Lachhu Ram Ji to commensurate his memory. This also is presently the head office of M.S.S.

Kot Kishan Chand : The building was provided by Salig Ram Sondhi charitable trust by the courtesy of late. Sh. Balbir Raj Sondhi of P.K.F. group.

Basti Shiekh : The building was donated by Shiv Mandir Charitable trust.

Deep Nagar: The building was donated by Late Smt. Chander Kanta Gupta in the memory of her Late husband Sh. Suresh Chander Gupata.

Mobile dispensary : The van was donated by Smt. Shashi and Sh. Anil Aggarwal of U.S.A. They are also regularly meeting the recurring cost of this dispensary. The van moves to the different villages around Jalandhar, on a biweekly programme for check-up & treatment by a qualified doctor of needy patients.

 

SPECIALIZED HEALTH PROGRAMS

In addition to a regular immunization program some other health projects are there.

T.B. Clinic : T.B. is a threatening disease and India is one of the country with largest number of patients of T.B. Treatment of T.B. is costly & prolonged. M.S.S. is helping treat the patients of this deadly disease by providing medicines at highly subsidized rates to poor patients. Approximately 350-400 patients of T.B. are taking medicine from various dispensaries of M.S.S. The recently introduced D.O.T. (Directly observed treatment) method by WHO will be implemented in our dispensaries also.

Eye Clinic : Treatment & surgeries of eye patients are being done at our dispensary at Basti sheikh.

Dental Clinic : Patients of dental problems are looked after at Kot Kishan Chand dispensary.

Counseling of stressed patients is done at the dispensary at Ladowali Road.
